Q:You've been talking about this new tablet - I've been drawing seriously on paper for about 3/4 of a year now. Is it a good idea to start learning how to use a computer with my art or should I focus more on physical mediums first? Also, I'm really impressed by the Mikenesses - you should McBess yourself!

I’ve never done any serious drawing with a tablet. I doodled with my old Wacom but produced nothing I’d be proud to post. It’s going to be a while before I feel comfortable enough to create finished pieces with this tablet, but so far it’s been pretty great and I’m getting the hang of it. I’ll never stop drawing on paper, of course - it’s where I’m most at home.

I would say that for this price it is definitely worth a shot to start drawing digitally, because you never know when that skill might come in handy. I’ve had jobs come up where it would be a major asset to use a tablet.

I'm an author and illustrator from Halifax, currently living in Toronto. I've produced a number of graphic novels, and currently work on Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors comics. I also have a weekly comic strip, True Story, which comes out occasionally.
