I did this as a concept for a video game a few years back - it was rejected but I always liked it. from the top down the level design makes a skull (the two mausoleums are the eyes, statue is the nose)

Secret Coders: Lost & Found
Are you excited about Gene Luen Yang and Mike Holmes’ upcoming graphic novel Secret Coders?
Then check out this original story set in that universe over on tor.com!
My new book with Gene Luen Yang is out next week!! Here’s a short story from the Secret Coders universe.
Q:Hello, First of all just want to say how I really really like your work, as a sort-of aspiring illustrator, your work is a really great inspiration so thank you !! Also I actually have one very simple question: do you like the Monty Python if so how does it influence your work?
Everyone is influenced by Monty Python, yes? Probably. I only had two television channels growing up, but I remember in grade six, CBC started playing Monty Python late at night sometimes. And there was one other kid in my class who started watching it too, and we had never seen anything like it, or heard of it before. I remember coming to school the next day and making a beeline for him to talk about the funny things we saw. “The funniest joke in the world” - that was the one that was the best one. Still!
In grade 12 the teacher let us put on “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” as a school play, and I was the director. It was a complete mess. It was probably illegal? We had a great time.
HAHA, you and I did the exact same thing in high school, on opposite ends of the province - we both directed Monty Python and the Holy Grail as a stage play. Our principal was a huge Python fan and let us get away with so much. I was a terrible student, but he was there at every performance, in the back of the room, giggling.
My sister makes amazing jewelry
My sister Sarah is creating custom rings for our wedding, and I think you should go to her store and check out her work for yourself.
She uses textures from nature to make amazing, unique pieces. Her materials are ALWAYS ethically sourced, her prices are amazing - ESPECIALLY with the current Canadian exchange rate! US customers will save like 30% on everything!

Here’s my sis, modeling more of her stuff:

The Comic Last Standing
Time to break out the peanut-butter squares and champagne to toast what’s been a pretty terrific run of the Bravest Warriors comics. The three-year journey comes to an end today with the release of No. 36. A big thanks to Breehn Burns, Shannon Watters and all the men and ladies at BOOM! Studios, Nate Olson, Chris Troise, Ruth Morrison, and—last but not least!—the über-talented writers and artists who made the comics such a blast. It was a pleasure.
So, enjoy this last issue. If you’re like we are, you’ll (regret all that champagne and peanut-butter squares, and) keep your fingers crossed we’ll see more somewhere down the line.

Dang - this was my very first regular comics gig, and I had a blast drawing the first 20 issues. Ian picked up the torch and ran with it and did an amazing job. Bye BW!

In 2008 I was asked to participate in a gallery show in Halifax - a local music photographer, Chris Smith, provided images and artists could interpret them as they liked. This photo was of folk musician Old Man Luedecke, and I used his song “Little Bird”. I animated this in two days.
This update was drawn collaboratively by me and Mike Holmes! Valerie colored the whole beast. And Gisele did the flats! It’s a real honor working with these folks.
